Job Description:
This position acts as the Chair’s representative while organizing and managing the Chair’s activities and calendar at the highest level of accuracy. The Assistant to the Chair supports the Chair of the routine responsibilities of the daily operation and administrative aspects of the department. The Assistant to the Chair shall be thoroughly familiar with all institutional and administrative policies and know where and how to elicit such information and see to its implementation, also acting in a liaison capacity between the Chair and various faculty and departments in terms of transmitting administrative information, decisions and directives.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with 3 – 5 years’ similar experience required. May consider 6 years’ experience in like position in lieu of degree.
• Three years supervisory experience required.
• Advanced working knowledge in MS Office including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and/or recent medical terminology course completion.
