Job Description:
This person is responsible for providing tutoring and educational services for the inpatient children and adolescents at Kobacker Center inpatient unit. This includes but is not limited to providing educational testing, communication with the home school, obtaining school work, tutoring the patients and/or providing school assignments that are congruent with the child’s current academic work at their home school, and providing communication after discharge re: the child’s progress, successes, treatment plan and post discharge treatment plan.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
• Bachelors degree required
• Bachelors degree in education preferred
• Experience with children and adolescents with emotional problems required
• Experience in educating special needs children preferred
• Certification in special education preferred
Communication and other skills:
• Must be able to read and write proficiently
• Must be flexible and able to handle stressful situations
• Understands the value of a multidisciplinary team and participates utilizing open communication with team members
• Communicates with team through accurate documentation
