Job Description:

This position provides the necessary secretarial support for the Associate Deans of the College of Arts & Letters and the Chair of the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies. Provides support for Associate Deans and Chair to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently and for the effective operation of a large college and the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies.

The position is first point of contact with all college constituents: undergraduate and graduate students, department chairs, program directors, faculty, University administrators, alumni and community. It provides services that directly impact college enrollment, retention, outreach, and student satisfaction, and also provides services that directly impact the College's completion of university-wide initiatives and functions, including assessment, program review, strategic plans

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• Successful score on the typing (30 WPM) and Secretarial assessment tests for those not already in the classification.
• High School Diploma or GED required, and minimum of one year of related work experience or a combination of education and experience
• Able to utilize all aspects of Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

Communication and other skills:
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, required
• Excellent organizational skills, required
• Able to communicate and work effectively with people from a variety of diverse backgrounds, required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform duties with initiative and independence, required
• Must have the ability to, as well as meet, the requirements to complete and maintain mandatory training per the University mandatory training policy pursuant to the deadlines set forth therein.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Banner, Web Report Library, and Application Xtender is preferred
• B.A./B.S. preferred
• Prior Secretarial Experience preferred
