Job Description:
The Department of Psychology at The University of Toledo seeks outstanding candidates for a full-time clinical faculty position (non-tenure) that includes the role of psychology clinic director. The initial term is for one year with the potential for extension. Applicants must have a doctoral degree in clinical psychology and be license eligible in Ohio. The primary responsibility for this position includes serving as Director of a currently operational psychology clinic housed within the Department of Psychology. This clinic serves as the primary training clinic for clinical psychology doctoral students. Responsibilities include providing clinical supervision for clinical psychology doctoral students, overseeing externship placements in the community, teaching a reduced load of primarily clinical graduate courses, serving as a core member of the clinical psychology doctoral program, and engaging in outreach to the university and surrounding community. Supervision of clinical work will include outpatient therapy (e.g., group, individual) and assessment (e.g., psychodiagnostics, cognitive). Use of the clinic space for private practice clients can be negotiated.
Previous clinical supervision experience is required. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates whose clinical work or research focuses on underrepresented populations and/or who have experience supervising or mentoring underrepresented minority students. Applications from individuals familiar with Northwest Ohio communities are welcomed.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Doctoral degree in clinical psychology from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS)
2. Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the state of Ohio
3. Experience in providing clinical supervision
4. Commitment to legal and ethical practices in service delivery and clinical training/supervision.
5. Commitment to collegiality, collaboration, respect for all persons, and prioritization of an optimal clinical training environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in providing supervision of clinical psychology graduate students in evidence-based modalities
2. Experience creating community connections
3. Experience in leadership roles, administrative roles, and/or writing clinical service delivery grants and contracts.
4. Experience teaching graduate students in clinical psychology (or related disciplines).
5. Experience using telehealth modalities for clinical services provision.
