Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Technical Director and/or Nursing staff, supports in the clinical activities of Perioperative Services. Assists in the care of patients by performing routine and delegated duties. Regularly assists all customers of the Operating Room arena in a professional manner. Will assist in the care for patients as identified in the unit's Scope of Care and assist in the care of the patients in the following stages of the life cycle: infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

2. All candidates must successfully complete transport training and meet competency requirements within the probationary period in order to maintain employment.

3. Must be able to read, write legibly, and comprehend written and verbal communications.

4. Must be able to complete HeartSaver course within probationary period.

5. Previous experience transporting patients is preferred.

6. Previous experience in a hospital/operating room is preferred.

7. Must be highly motivated and consistently demonstrate high standards of responsibility. Must be able to prioritize and plan activities to facilitate the efficient flow of the surgical schedule. Must function independently with minimal supervision.
