Job Description:

The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for: prevention of athletic injury & illness; injury evaluation, assessment and management; rehabilitation of athletic injury. This position will also be responsible for assisting in policy and procedure development and the education and counseling of student athletes and coaches.

The Assistant Athletic Trainer will also assist the sports medicine staff in various other areas as deemed necessary by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for maintaining a commitment to NCAA Rules and Compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing:
• Must be certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association
• A minimum of a Master’s Degree is required
• CPR certification
• Must be eligible for an Ohio Athletic Training license

Communication and other skills:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Flexibility in work hours/days
• Ability to function as a member of a sports medicine team
• Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior
