Job Description:

The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at the University of Toledo is extremely active in all aspects of inpatient care within the University of Toledo Medical Center. The Cardiology Division is fully equipped with cutting edge medical equipment, offering a full range of comprehensive testing and treatments for all types of cardiovascular diseases. The successful applicant will provide direct patient care; participate in conferences, develop and conduct scholarly endeavors; and instruct medical students in the discipline of Cardiology.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Cardiology healthcare team to provide patients with medical care services within the standard of care for Hospital Medicine patients.
  • Round with the Hospital Medicine team, including Advanced Practice Providers, Medical Students and other multidisciplinary staff. The successful candidate will also have independent rounding responsibilities.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Participate in the teaching programs of the Department of Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the University.
  • Participate in research trials that align with the goals of the Department of Medicine.
  • Participate in service assignments of importance to the Department of Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the University.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency
  • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine
  • Current License in the State of Ohio required, prior to beginning the position
  • Successful completion of Cardiology Fellowship
  • Board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine
  • Successful completion of a Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship
  • Board certified or board eligible in Cardiac Electrophysiology
