smallTalk
smallTalk is commercializing a technology platform for infants and toddlers that builds brains through early language exposure. Since launching their first product in September, 2022, they’ve helped over 2,500 families introduce a foreign language to their infant. In 2023, they were awarded a $2.5M NIH grant to adapt their technology into a medical device for premature infants in neonatal intensive care. The founding team includes CEO Dean Koch, who was VP of Marketing at Adeza Biomedical (IPO), the founding CEO of CerviLenz / Lucina Health (acquired), and a Venture Partner with JumpStart Ventures. He is joined by Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer Nathalie Maitre, MD, PhD. She is a highly published physician-scientist studying infant brain development at Emory University, and is the inventor of smallTalk’s technology.
