We’re a diverse team with backgrounds in technology and entrepreneurship and we’re growing rapidly to deliver on our mission. We’re actively seeking a Program Manager who is an operational powerhouse, organized, can manage multiple projects at one time, and is reliable.

As a Program Manager you will be running the 3-month Smart Cities accelerator programs twice a year by setting up events and networking sessions, own startup relationships, support business development with their corporate accounts and deal flows, prepare marketing collateral, order promotional materials and supplies for the team, and more. Plug and Play has an ‘all hand on deck’ approach to everything we do and we are looking for team members that embrace that ethos and are comfortable wearing lots of hats.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

Program + Startup Facing

  • Own relationships with startups in the accelerator program. You are the first point of contact responsible for ensuring the startup has all the resources they need to get the most out of the program.
  • Hold intake interviews, exit interviews, and make sure all startups are on track to meet program goals
  • Grow an ecosystem of mentors and VCs to bring more value to the program. Networking and outreach with relevant industry players who can help startups.
  • Set up sessions for startups to meet with Mentors, VC’s and corporate partners for the program
  • Collect feedback and develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Wrap up the program with a batch analysis report, individual startup report cards and manage data collection and reporting to funding partners.
  • Support the Director with questions from corporate partners and startups.
  • Collaborate with the wider Plug and Play team to ensure startups have all the content they need to succeed.

Event Management

  • Setup events, mentor sessions, workshops, office hours, deal flows to build up the program.
  • Work closely with the Orlando Plug and Play team to host events that are beneficial to the regional startups ecosystem as well as startups in the accelerator program.
  • Book venues, brainstorm content, outreach to speakers
  • Manage invites to Plug and Play events and ensure attendance and participation is maximized
  • Inform our network about upcoming events
  • Assist and coordinate travel arrangements with key individuals
  • Prepare name tags, demo table signs, registration, printouts for events
  • Meet on a regular basis with stakeholders to make communication easy and project manage to do’s for the team
  • Create and co-host community events to continue engagement and grow the local ecosystem

Marketing

  • Coordinate a monthly newsletter / social media updates with the marketing team
  • Prepare flyers and communication tools with our marketing team for major events such as: Selection Day, Meetups, EXPO

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and a passion for Smart Cities technology
  • Project management / process improvement / Program Management experience
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Demonstrate dependability, accountability, self-awareness, strong work ethic, and reliability
  • Passion and understanding for entrepreneurial communities
  • Startup or entrepreneurship experience is a plus
