Who we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the company's ongoing operations and business development activities. Reporting directly to the Founder and CEO, the COO will be responsible for leading and managing all support functions and operational departments in an efficient way to support growth functions and customer experience, while also driving business growth through strategic business development initiatives. The main goal of the COO is to execute the strategy established with the CEO and the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management:

  • Oversee all operational departments, including Marketing, Automation, Playbook, Accounting, HR, Legal, IT…
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
  • Identify and address operational bottlenecks or inefficiencies to optimize workflow and resource allocation.

  1. Business Development:

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to capitalize on company strengths and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to align business development strategies with overall company goals.

  1. Financial Management:

  • Work closely with the head of finance to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for operational and business development initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor financial KPIs against targets and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure profitability.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities (operational investments and not start up investments) and assess financial risks associated with business development initiatives.
  • Develop relations with financial institutions to raise debt, capital or working capital needs.

  1. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team of department heads and managers across operational and business development functions.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Identify talent gaps and develop strategies for talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning.
  • Must feel comfortable working in a multi-cultural international setting.

  1. Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Help CEO in developing strategic plans and responsible for executing the plans to achieve company objectives and drive sustainable growth across operational and business development areas.
  • Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities for expansion or improvement.
  • Ensure alignment of operational and business development strategies with overall company vision and goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • +15 years of experience in executive leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in operational management, business development, and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to drive change and innovation.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Used to working in a multi-cultural and international organization.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, the perfect candidate will have a perfect mix of entrepreneurial spirit in a fast growth setting but at the same time with strong organizational skills to help structure the rapid growth.
