Who We Need:

Octet Scientific, Inc. has a unique opportunity for a talented and driven synthetic/process chemist interested in redefining energy storage, driving renewable power, and helping save the planet all while building an innovative new company from the ground up. We need someone who is excited to commercialize our new molecules through process development and innovation. This individual would drive the chemical development of our products and how we make them to best fit our customers’ needs.

Primary Job duties:

• Synthesize novel, scalable organic molecules

• Test processes for scaling new electrolyte additives

• Work with in-house and out-of-house production to meet customer specifications

• Optimize production of molecules for the best economic value

• Help develop quality control processes

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Master’s degree or PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering or similar field experience

• Familiarity with organic chemical design, syntheses, characterization, and laboratory practices

• Ability to work within all necessary laboratory safety protocols

• Self-driven, motivated individual with good teamwork skills

• Preferred: Experience in small molecule process chemistry
