| Summary | This position provides clinical and operational support within a dental school clinical environment. Responsibilities include operation of the dental dispensary, radiographic procedures and on-site training in instrument processing and sterilization. Required to assist with sedation monitoring under supervision and support of faculty and students during clinical sessions. |
| Principal Functional Responsibilities | Dispensing and Inventory Support: Prepare and dispense dental material, instruments and equipment as requested, ensuring students, faculty and clinical staff have timely access to instruments and materials for patient care. Assemble and dispense procedure-specific instrument trays and supplies. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function and damage. Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels are adequate. Monitor expiration dates and dispose of outdated materials properly. Assist with ordering and restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations. Sterilization and Compliance: Ensure all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored according to infection control protocols. Maintain accurate inventory levels by stocking, organizing and replenishing supplies. Monitor inventory usage and notify supervisor when stock levels need reordering. Receive, inspect, label and store incoming shipments according to established procedures. Follow safety and health regulations in handling and disposing of dental materials. Maintain sterilization logs and compliance documents. Administrative and Customer Support: Record and track dispensed materials for billing and usage reports. Assist dental professionals with locating and retrieving necessary supplies. Provide basic guidance on the proper use and storage of dental materials. Handle clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing supply orders. Sedation Support: Within training and policy limits, assist licensed providers with preparation for sedation procedures. Monitor sedated patients under direct supervision and document vital signs as required. Support patient recovery and discharge processes according to clinic protocols. Student and Faculty Support: Provide operational assistance to students during clinical sessions. Explain dispensary procedures and clinic workflows. Respond to routine questions regarding equipment and supplies. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned. |

| Physical Requirements | Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions. Ability to lift and transport instrument trays and supply containers (up to 30 lbs.). Ability to bend, reach, push as required to stock inventory. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required while working in designated clinical areas. |
