Summary
Full-time non-tenure track junior faculty position to build competency in teaching, clinical service, and research through closely mentored academic activities including instruction of graduate students, curriculum development and evaluation, and the development of a scholarly project for publication and/or presentation at a national conference.
The program will enrich master adaptive learning and communication skillsets while working alongside NEOMED faculty and staff to support graduate students curricular development and implementation.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Teaching: Direct teaching assignments in the following areas as assigned:
  • Participate in developing course and/or program curriculum, standards and policies in collaboration with Program Director and Program Faculty.
  • Develop course curriculum, lectures, and presentation and maintain course outlines / syllabi.
  • Conduct all classes in accordance with an established and current course syllabus.
  • Participate in course, program, and institutional level assessment including development of learning outcomes and measures, evaluating student performance and recommending improvement measures.
Service: Active participation on college and university committees as appropriate. In addition, membership and participation in state and national professional organizations is strongly encouraged. Evaluating the success of service obligations will be based on level of participation and engagement in support of related activities.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Currently enrolled in NEOMED’s MD program and in good standing or recent graduate of NEOMED’s MD program.
Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an academic setting.
Personal Attributes:
  • Strong motivation and ambition to build a career in academic medicine.
  • Openness to mentorship and guidance.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Peer tutoring/teaching experience.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.
