Summary
Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients while contributing to the academic mission of NEOMED through teaching, research, and community engagement through transformational leadership. This role requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our diverse patient population.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Patient Care: Provide exemplary primary care services to patients of all ages within an interprofessional healthcare setting, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic medical condition in collaboration with other specialist and referrals for treatment when necessary. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver integrated and coordinated care that meets the diverse needs of our patient population. Foster a patient-centered approach to care, emphasizing communication, shared decision-making, and cultural competence. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters using electronic medical records (EMR) and adhere to regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Education and Research: When appropriate and if desired, participate in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and other learners, providing clinical instruction, supervision, and feedback in both classroom and clinical settings. Contribute to research and scholarly activities within the department and collaborate with colleagues on projects aimed at advancing medical knowledge and improving patient outcomes.
Community Engagement: Engage with the local community to promote health education, disease prevention, and access to care through outreach initiatives, community partnerships, and involvement in public health programs.
Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Current unencumbered Ohio License to practice medicine
  • Current ABMS Board Certification in Family Medicine (ABFM) or Combined Certification (ABIM) in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (ABP) and participation in Continuing Certification
  • Consideration may be given for new residency graduates who are Board Eligible as above with the expectation that Board Certification will be obtained within 3 years of start
  • Current unencumbered DEA certificate
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Successful completion of an accredited program of residency training in family medicine or internal medicine/pediatrics.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years’ MD/DO Family Medicine experience or equivalent
Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.
May be required to work between two different University campuses located less than 10 miles apart.
