Position Summary Information
Summary
Assist with the coordination of all functions within the Office of Student Services that cumulatively support NEOMED’s “Exceptional Student Experience,” with a primary focus on planning and implementation of key university-wide and college-specific events. Assist with the day-to-day management of official student organizations. Provide support for student orientations and student programming. Oversee any/all of the above areas as deemed necessary.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Event Planning: Assist with the planning and implementation of university-wide events (i.e., Commencement) and fundraisers (i.e., Charity Ball), college-specific events (i.e., White Coat Ceremonies), student activities, leadership ceremonies, service opportunities, online/in-person orientations, and other related office initiatives. Occasionally, this requires flexible hours to support all activities of the office, including weekday evening and weekend hours. This may also require traveling locally.

Student Organization Management: Assist with advisement of student organizations. Assist with the administrative oversight of the student organization management software system.

Budget Oversight: Manage assigned budgets, including the processing of reimbursement forms, deposits, and check requests.
Communication: Assist with identifying and responding to stakeholder concerns in a timely fashion; manage the student event listservs; approve and monitor event requests related to student organizations and student events; effectively market and advertise office events, ceremonies, and processes; boost engagement using social media.
Miscellaneous Duties: Represent the Assistant Director as requested; perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of college coursework or associate’s degree
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience in event planning and/or student activities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in higher education event planning
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of student activities/programming
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management
  • Proficiency in student organization management software
Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.

The ideal candidate can work collaboratively with departments across campus yet also work independently. They can prioritize work, manage multiple projects concurrently, quickly adjust to evolving deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. Starting salary range $37,680-$44,588, commensurate with experience.
