Position Summary Information
Summary
The Bitonte College of Dentistry’s Director for Student Success is engaged with students in all phases of the process that leads to the successful completion of the D.D.S. degree, from admissions through graduation. The Director for Student Success works in collaboration with the university’s centralized admissions and student services offices and provides oversight of all aspects of dental student affairs, including student services, student advising, and student promotion.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Admissions: Work in collaboration with the university’s Senior Executive Director, Strategic Enrollment Initiatives and the university’s centralized admissions office to assist in the dental student recruitment and admissions process. Provide oversight to ensure that the college meets all Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) standards related to admissions.
Student Services: Serve as the first point of contact for dental students with respect to professional counseling and support services. Work in collaboration with the university’s centralized Student Services office to ensure that dental students’ student services needs are addressed. Address student professionalism concerns. Serve as the student advocate for dental students in academic and student conduct proceedings. Oversee career advising for dental students. Provide oversight for the residency application process for dental students. Provide oversight to ensure that the college meets all Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) standards related to student services.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in education, counseling, or related field.
  • Experience in student services/student affairs in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in a dental school/college.
  • Prior experience in predoctoral dental student affairs/student services.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, accreditation of predoctoral dental education programs by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.

Department Specific Information
Starting salary range $60,356-$71,422, commensurate with experience.
