Position Summary Information
Summary
The NEOMED Clinic provides high quality healthcare in an interprofessional environment that may include medical, pharmacy students, physician assistant students and other graduate and undergraduate students. This role will provide professional medical and psychiatric services to students, employees, and the community to include patient assessment and diagnosis, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, order lab tests, interpret test results, provide patient education, and possible opioid use disorder treatments.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Patient Care: Provides psychiatric care to new and existing patients including initial assessment, diagnosis and treatment of adults, adolescents, and children experiencing symptoms of behavioral health disorders. Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders in accordance with the Collaborative Practice Agreement. Actively participate in coordination of care, collaboration with other clinical team members and referrals for treatment when necessary. Order clinical laboratory tests required, interpret test results and implements treatment plans. Maintains complete and accurate medical records in a timely fashion.
Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • PMHNP degree from an accredited university
  • Successful completion of an accredited PMHNP program of training in psychiatric medicine
  • Current unencumbered Ohio License to practice APN/PA
  • Current DEA certificate
  • At least 2 years’ PMHNP Psychiatric experience or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
5 years’ PMHNP Psychiatric Care experience or equivalent
Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.
