Position Summary Information
Summary
Full-time administrative and faculty position responsible for establishing, leading, and operational management of the NEOMED Dental Clinic, serving as a member of the college’s leadership team. Responsibilities include clinic operations, compliance, and continuous quality improvement, and teaching in the DDS program. Work collaboratively with the Associate Dean of Education & Academic Affairs and with the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs to ensure that the NEOMED Dental Clinic is in compliance with Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA) standards.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Administrative: Responsible for establishing, leading, and providing day to day operational management of the NEOMED Dental Clinic. Will ensure that NEOMED Dental Clinic activities are compliant with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements and with Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accreditation standards.
Teaching: Responsible for teaching within the DDS program and providing clinical teaching to dental students across all facets of general dentistry. Supervise dental students in the clinical setting to ensure safe, high-quality care for patients. Provide hands-on demonstrations of clinical services/procedures and/or provision of clinical care to patients as needed.

Service: Active participation on college and university committees will be required and assigned. In addition, membership and participation in state and national professional dental organizations is strongly encouraged.

Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • DDS/DMD or equivalent.
  • Must be eligible for licensure in the state of Ohio for a Dentist License or a Limited Dental Teaching License.
  • Prior clinical practice experience in general dentistry
  • Prior experience operating a dental clinic
  • Qualified to be appointed as a faculty member in the College of Dentistry (rank commensurate with qualifications)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dental Clinic Operations: Prior administrative experience/role in dental clinic operations in a college of dentistry, particularly experience managing a continuous quality improvement (CQI) program in a dental clinic
  • Leadership and Team-Building: Strong leadership and team-building skills to manage dental clinic staff
  • Teaching Experience and Expertise: Teaching experience in predoctoral dental education program, including clinical teaching. Experienced and effective educator.
  • Accreditation Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of, and experience with, accreditation of predoctoral dental education programs by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), particularly with accreditation standards related to patient care services. Able to collaborate with college administration to ensure ongoing compliance with CODA standards.
  • Contemporary Digital Technologies: Knowledge/experience in digital dentistry. Ability to facilitate/collaborate with Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs, IT staff, and COD department chairs and faculty to ensure implementation of digital dentistry in the NEOMED Dental Clinic.
  • Collaborative: Can work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, staff, and students at the college and the university.
  • Humanistic Environment: Committed to building a humanistic culture/climate within the college and to fostering student success.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.
