Position Summary Information
Summary
This position is responsible for learner instruction, support, and/or mentorship in the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt for Health Care Operations program within NEOMED Executive Education. Applicants will be considered for one of two Instructor levels based on their qualifications and expected contribution to the program. The outline below outlines the qualifications of the Executive Education Instructor positions.

Instructor I, Lean Six Sigma
Pay Grade: 13
Starting Pay Rate : $55
Location: Rootstown, OH

Instructor II, Lean Six Sigma
Pay Grade: 15
Starting Pay Rate: $70

Principal Functional Responsibilities
1) Student Mentorship:
Mentor students in the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) for Health Care Operations curricula based on areas of expertise. Contribute to the following:
· Development and execution of monthly/bimonthly 1-hour session to engage practicing health care professionals in discussion and application of LSS curricular concepts in a healthcare setting.
· Facilitation of discussion on current issues and trends related to quality improvement in healthcare.
Mentorship of students on application of LSS concepts to their work, improvement projects, and health systems.

2) Student Instruction:
Instruct students in the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) for Health Care Operations curricula based on areas of expertise. Contribute to the following:
· Instruction of in-person student learning sessions of the NEOMED LSS body of knowledge and guide project tool application.
Longitudinal mentorship of LSS improvement projects.

3) Program Support:
· Integrate learning strategies and educational pedagogy to engage adult, professional learners across a diversity of clinical/professional disciplines, years of experience, level of education, etc.
· Collaboration with the course faculty and program director to apply subject matter expertise, professional experience, relevant scholarship, and curriculum knowledge to teaching and learner interactions.
Link session learning objectives to overall curricular objectives and engage in continuous quality improvement of session.

4) Perform other duties as assigned by program director
Qualifications
INSTRUCTOR I, LEAN SIX SIGMA
Education/Degrees:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Health system experience preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required.

Experience:
• Academic leadership experience in a university setting or equivalent professional leadership in a clinical role preferred.
• Teaching experience in a university or clinical setting is preferred.

INSTRUCTOR II, LEAN SIX SIGMA
Education/Degrees:
• M.D., D.O., Pharm.D., Ph.D., other terminal degree in field, or equivalent healthcare or academic medicine leadership experience.
• Health system or executive-level leadership required.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt required (or must obtain within six months of hire); Green or Black Belt certification preferred.

Experience:
• Academic leadership experience in a university setting or equivalent professional leadership in a clinical role required.
• Supervisory and/or mentorship experience required.
• Project management and oversight experience required.
Key Skills, Personal Characteristics, and Key Competencies
INSTRUCTOR I, LEAN SIX SIGMA
• Evidence of teaching expertise including student feedback/evaluations
• Demonstratable teaching skills in one on one, small group and large group instruction/discussion facilitation
• Understanding of and/or interest in current approaches to professional/adult education
• Willingness to collaborate with faculty across disciplines and promote integrative learning
• Ability to work with groups/individuals with diverse backgrounds

INSTRUCTOR II, LEAN SIX SIGMA
• Evidence of mentorship/coaching expertise
• Demonstrable skills in one on one, small group and large group instruction and mentorship
• Understanding of and/or interest in current approaches to professional/adult education
• Willingness to collaborate with faculty across disciplines and promote integrative learning
• Ability to work with groups/individuals with diverse backgrounds
• Demonstrable understanding of quality improvement in a healthcare setting

Physical Requirements
Instruction may occur both in-person and online. For in-person instruction, Instructors must be able to stand and/or sit in a classroom setting for up to 8 hours. Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel.
