Position Summary Information
Summary
The instructor will provide instruction in coursework relative to their specific field or expertise. The role of the instructor encompasses course planning, delivery, in teaching and student mentorship, and assessment and program planning. Applicants will be considered for one of two Instructor levels based on their qualifications and expected contribution to the program. The outline below outlines the qualifications for the Health and Well-being Coaching Certificate Program positions. The incumbent will collaborate with the program director, other faculty, students, and staff to deliver courses effectively.

Principal Functional Responsibilities
Student Mentorship: Mentor students in the Health & Well-being Coaching Certificate Program. Contribute to the following:
· Development and execution of monthly/bimonthly 1-hour sessions to engage in practicing health and well-being concepts in a healthcare setting.
· Facilitation of discussion on current issues and trends related to quality improvement in healthcare.
· Mentorship of students on the application of health and well-being concepts to their work, improvement projects, and health systems.

Student Instruction: Instruct students in the Health & Well-Being Coaching Certificate Program based on areas of expertise. Contribute to the following:
· Instruction of in-person or virtual student learning sessions of the NEOMED body of knowledge and guide project tool application.

Assessment:
· Collaborate with the program director and other faculty to:
o Assess and evaluate student learning using constructive feedback.
· Help manage program curriculum to provide hands-on learning opportunities

Program Support:
· Integrate learning strategies and educational pedagogy to engage adult, professional learners across a diversity of clinical/professional disciplines, years of experience, level of education, etc.
· Collaboration with the course faculty and program director to apply subject matter expertise, professional experience, relevant scholarship, and curriculum knowledge to teaching and learner interactions.
· Link session learning objectives to overall curricular objectives and engage in continuous quality improvement of session.

· Perform other duties as assigned by program director
Qualifications
Instructor:
Education/Degrees:
• Graduate degree required from a regionally accredited institution in health and well-being-related field or bachelor’s degree and license/registration in a nationally recognized health and well-being field.
• Recent experience in the field related to the course that will be instructed.
NBHWC certification preferred.
Experience:
• Specialized experience in the field to be taught.
• Teaching experience in a university setting desired.

Certified Instructor:

Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
