The Assistant Director of Inclusion and Engagement will report to the Sr. Executive Director of Academic Affairs and Student Services and foster a deep commitment to and understanding of intercultural competencies, advancing inclusion and belonging in the campus community, and promote student engagement and inclusion through collaboration, cultural competency education and programming, and campus-wide initiatives and programs to advance student engagement and inclusion.

Principal Functional Responsibilities | 1) Community Engagement: Identify goals and opportunities for enhancing equity, inclusion, and belonging in collaboration with various constituents. Develop and lead community-wide programs and initiatives to achieve these goals while regularly evaluating progress. | 25% 2) Programming and Engagement: Plan, implement and assess programming and training that fosters cultural and intercultural humility, communication, celebration and education utilizing strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to track multiple tasks concurrently and meet goals and aggressive timelines. | 20% 3) Advocacy and Support: Advise, collaborate, and support student organizations and their programming to ensure engagement and inclusiveness. Commitment to further refine communication skills, intercultural competency, and sensitivity in interactions with constituencies across various ethnic, social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds and demonstrated strong commitment to advancing cultural competence and humility, inclusiveness, and equity at NEOMED. | 20% 4) Partnership and Collaboration: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including academic departments, Student Services (programming and student organizations), Learning Center and other campus partners to develop and implement support for all students, particularly for students who feel marginalized for whatever reason. | 15% 5) Inclusive Focus: Attend to the needs of students who feel marginalized for whatever reason in order to support their engagement, inclusion and success. | 15% 6) Perform other duties as assigned. | 5% |
Qualifications | Education/Degrees: Required: Masters degree in education, social science, or related field. Preferred: Masters degree in higher education and student affairs/student development. Experience: 4+ years of related work experience, or a combination of education and related experience. Cultural competence skills and ability to work with diverse populations. |
