Summary
Positioned within the Office of the President, and reporting to the Vice President of Strategy and Transformation, this position interacts cross-functionally with university shared service units, colleges, and strategic partners within the university ecosystem in support of NEOMED’s mission, vision, and values. This position directs the operations, implementation, review, and assessment of strategic initiatives across the University. This position will manage and oversee the interconnectivity of the strategic initiatives that drive the strategic plan. The Director of Strategy and Transformation will provide operational and financial guidance, high-level project management, implement effective communication mechanisms, and represent the strategy office to ensure the timely implementation and evaluation of strategic initiative projects and key performance indicators.

Starting Salary Range: $66.092 – $71,442

Principal Functional Responsibilities
Leadership and Oversight
  • Lead and supervise all operations and initiatives in the Strategy Office In collaboration with the Vice President of Strategy and Transformation, manage the short, mid, and long-term organizational goals of the University Strategic Plan. Provide operational, technical, and professional management and represent the strategy office in the execution of the University’s forty-two strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee the strategic communication plan, developing content and executing or delegating mechanisms to deliver messaging through appropriate channels and stakeholders. Oversee the creation, organization, and dissemination of strategic initiative information requiring attendance by faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
  • Strategy – Accountable for contribution to the development and achievement of key departmental annual objectives related to strategic plan goals. Serve as a member of the Strategic Plan Lead Team.
  • Provide portfolio-level management of the overall strategic plan and high-priority projects within the plan. Serve as the enterprise administrator for Envisio, with oversight of the university performance management software including managing the reporting cycle and process with all pillars leads and action plan owners (>120 action plans) and the public-facing dashboard. Collaborate with colleges and other business units for integration, alignment, and connectivity of business unit strategic plans into the Envisio model

Supervision and Management
  • Manage human capital resources and lead strategic project teams, related to the advancement of the strategic plan.
  • Manage operating budget, including preparation of annual budget, quarterly reporting, and purchasing/provision of resources.
  • Lead internal and external reporting in alignment with the requirements of accrediting bodies, strategic plan performance and alignment, creation of action project plans, and internal continuous improvement assessment.

Operations and Finance
  • Identify problems, recommend, and implement solutions to improve the operations, streamline processes, and enhance the Strategy Office. Creates departmental and Strategic Initiative Funding financial reports.
  • Provide Financial Oversight. Responsible for the management of the budget and operational plan for the Strategy Office. The position will require tracking expenditures, reconciliation of P-cards, and development of financial reports as needed.
  • Direction of the Strategic Initiative Funding, and all subsequent designated indices related to SIF awards. Manage the Strategic Initiative Funding process including proposal audit and review sessions, packaging of proposals for the review team, processing awards, monitoring progress, financial reporting, and preparation of leadership presentations.

Strategy, Growth, and Project Management
  • Design, develop, or assist with strategic growth opportunities and partnerships. Includes application of project management methodology, contribution to project teams, providing primary and secondary research, analytics, and team support to assist decision-making and ensure project deliverables in accordance with advancing NEOMED’s growth strategy.
    • Lead high-priority strategic projects
    • Manage a portfolio of projects
    • Provide high level/C-suite reporting
Qualifications
Education/Degrees:
  • Bachelor’s degree and experience in higher education strategic planning required.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in education and experience preferred.
  • Project management and Lean Six Sigma certification are required.

Experience
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Evidence of knowledge and experience with operations, fiscal administration, and strategic planning.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and teams to demonstrate organizational impact.
  • Five or more years of experience in higher education or related field required.
  • Envisio software management is preferred.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
