Full-time senior research assistant position. Reports to assigned Principal Investigator. Responsibilities include assisting with scientific experiments (specifically with surgical procedures, tissue processing and immunohistochemistry) and writing, training new students, assisting in design and troubleshooting of experiments, analyze data and basic laboratory management under general supervision.

1) Perform histological procedures for light and electron microscopy 50%

2) Assist with maintenance of transgenic mouse colony 15%

3) Support maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies 10%

4) Support data management and archiving. 5%

5) Assist with small animal surgery 5%

6) Assist with manuscript and grant preparation 5%

7) Perform other duties as assigned. 10%

Education/Degrees: B.S. or B.A. in Biology or related field.

Experience: At least 2 year of research experience.

Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
