Position Summary Information
Summary
We invite applications for one National Institute of Health (NIH)-funded postdoctoral position in Yong Lu, Ph.D.’s laboratory in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology. Dr. Lu’s research, using primarily electrophysiology (e.g., whole-cell patch clamp in brain slices) and microscope imaging techniques, investigates the function and mechanism of neuromodulation mediated by metabotropic glutamate receptors in the development of sound localization circuits. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in neuroscience. Experience in electrophysiology (in vivo or in vitro) is required. The position will be available for two (2) years, with possible extension contingent on funding. If you are interested, please apply online at neomed.edu.

Pay Grade: 8
Starting Salary Range: $46,300 – $54,788, commensurate with experience

Principal Functional Responsibilities
1) Design and perform experiments; analyze data; write up manuscripts for publication; and present results on conferences.
2) Assist training of students and/or lab technicians
3) Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Degrees: Doctoral degree required; Ph.D. in Neuroscience preferred.
Experience: Research Experience obtained via doctorate studies: in vitro or in vivo electrophysiology experience is required.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize applicable equipment necessary for the job, as well as basic office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, sit; talk; and hear. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
