Position Summary Information
Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni Relations, the Assistant Director of Alumni and Donor Engagement is responsible for planning and managing comprehensive alumni and donor engagement programs, projects and events that engage and strengthen connections to NEOMED, build relationships between alumni and students, help generate new and renewed gifts in support of the NEOMED Foundation’s priorities and goals. This position is responsible for creating new approaches to current methods of stewarding and engaging these key constituents on a more personal level, including in-person and online events.

Pay Grade: 8
Starting Salary Range: $46,300 – $62,000

Principal Functional Responsibilities
1) Alumni Engagement
  • In collaboration with the Senior Director of Alumni Relations, execute a plan to engage and secure philanthropic and engagement participation levels from alumni with the goal of growing participation rates from NEOMED’s youngest alumni who will be the next generation of philanthropists.
  • Partner with NEOMED’s marketing and communications team and the annual giving team to assist with the development and implementation of a multi-channel communications plan for alumni so that they feel engaged and well informed.
  • Maintain and provide accurate statistics and reporting for alumni who engage and give to NEOMED.
  • Assist with the development of presentations for alumni volunteers in support of alumni engagement programs to be cultivated and trained to be the next generation of leaders and donors to NEOMED.
  • Lead efforts for student outreach and engagement platforms, educating students to the resources available with regard to the Alumni Association
2) Philanthropic Events and Stewardship
  • Design strategic stewardship programs to educate and inform donors of the impact of their giving to NEOMED through personalized annual reports, events, and communications including social media, e-blasts, year-end reminders, birthday, anniversary, special events, acknowledgements, gift announcements, invitations, newsletter updates and fundraising materials.
  • Responsible for organizing and hosting the annual Alumni Awards program, which is the signature program for alumni.
  • Manage and coordinate other philanthropic programs and events as they arise.
3) Young Alumni Direct Engagement
  • Launch and brand a Young Alumni program for NEOMED focused on growing alumni engagement to meet ambitious participation and dollar goals.
  • Travel to recruit, solicit and manage volunteers, oversee the next generation of philanthropists of alumni by classes and by academic program of study: medicine, pharmacy, graduate studies, and dentistry (once the program is launched).
Qualifications
Education/Degrees: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (or equivalent experience.)
Experience: Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in alumni relations, advancement, annual giving, preferable in medical higher education. Demonstrated philanthropic values and a commitment to service, superior written and oral communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, volunteers, donors, and prospective donors. Must have outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, computer proficiency, professional demeanor, a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and confidence.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and screen and other office equipment. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk; or hear and occasionally stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel.
Moderate travel may be required; must be available for occasional evening and weekend events.
