Position Summary Information
Summary | Assist the Assistant Director of Financial Analysis and Planning with the administration of university procurement activities to deliver high value and quality equipment, materials, supplies, and services; to ensure accuracy of records and compliance with federal, state, and university policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Conducts research, interprets, analyzes, and transforms spending and savings data information in different formats to accommodate a variety of sourcing needs based on strategic procurement goals and requirements. Principal Functional Responsibilities | 1) Create / process approved requisitions, which ensure procurement of quality products at competitive prices; expedite purchase orders; resolve invoicing and shipping discrepancies; interview suppliers to increase knowledge of price, quality, and delivery requirements. 2) Administration of the P-Card program including processing applications, management of the online portal, ongoing user training, monthly transaction processing and payment reconciliation, and conduct spend audits and analysis monthly to ensure compliance with state and University policies. 3) Analyze spend by commodity, business unit, other data elements, and/or vendor using appropriate business metrics, in order to identify sourcing opportunities including, but not limited to, savings, value, consolidation and supplier diversity and reporting spend quarterly to the IUC, and conduct spend audits and analysis monthly to ensure compliance with state and University policies. 4) Assist in the administration of all business platforms for purchasing including vendor registration, travel, PCARD, contract management, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. |
Qualifications | Education/Degrees: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field and/or related experience required. Experience: Three years of purchasing-related experience preferred, including negotiation with external vendors, procurement practices, process redesign, and general financial analysis. |
