As a mainframe storage engineer senior or lead in the Enterprise Service Continuity organization, you’ll use IBM z-Series Mainframe Storage Engineering best practices to provide secure, innovative, reliable, always on storage technology solutions that optimize customer value, always available, performance, and capacity. In this role, you’ll coordinate, monitor, and support an operations team to ensure that our business storage needs are proactively met. In addition, you’ll partner with other business areas while ensuring high-quality, innovative technology solutions are available for customers, agents, and employees. Working with peers, you’ll help us drive efficiency and effectiveness across organizational initiatives. Furthermore, you’ll lead projects, provide engineering support for customer or technology issues, and research new methods and systems.
This is a remote position for US based work only.
Must-have qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline, Math, or other related field of study and a minimum of four years of experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems
- Instead of a degree, a minimum of six years related experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems may be accepted
Preferred skills
- Experience with REXX, SAS, Syncsort, and JCL programming/scripting languages
- Familiarity with Tape Grid technology and supporting tools/utilities like CA1
- Familiarity with IBM DASD technology and supporting tools/utilities like mirroring replication, TDMF, GDPS, Configure DASD, Flash Copy, Hardware failover-failback (using Metro-Mirror and Metro-Global-Mirror)
- Familiarity with IBM zOS Storage software and supporting tools/utilities like SMS, HSM, DFSMS, IDCAMS, DFDSS, Catalogs: reorg, recover, and VSAM/RLS
Compensation
- $111,870-$$140,000/year based on position level and experience
- Gainshare annual cash incentive payment up to 30% or 40% (depending on position level) of your eligible earnings based on company performance.
