As an accounting and financial reporting specialist on the Reinsurance Accounting team, you'll execute and account for low to medium complexity reinsurance contracts. You'll prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and perform company close analysis. You'll monitor contract changes and accounting and financial reporting changes, while maintaining compliance with internal SOX controls and state insurance department requirements. In addition, you'll collaborate with a variety of departments and business units, providing expertise to internal and external customers alike. You'll use professional accounting and financial reporting concepts and apply company policies and procedures to complete accounting and financial reporting responsibilities.

This is a hybrid role located in Mayfield Village, OH.

Must-have qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g., Finance)

Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge of reinsurance and /or statutory accounting principles and reporting
• Experience with audit procedures, month-end close procedures and account reconciliations
• Demonstrated experience and a strong interest in data management and analysis, particularly with tools such as VBA, SQL, and SAP BusinessObjects, as well as familiarity with reinsurance accounting software including WorkDay, Prima XL, URS, and Reinsurance Pro
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word & Access)
• A strong desire to enhance processes, drive efficiencies, and foster innovation within our organization

Compensation

• $51,200 - $64,000/year depending on position level
• Gainshare bonus up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance and position level
