As a data analyst mid or senior in our Commercial Lines Small Business Insurance team, you’ll collaborate with the Catastrophe Modeling Research & Development (R&D) department to maintain, monitor, and analyze catastrophe peril, risk, reinsurance, and financial metrics. You’ll implement vendor catastrophe models for perils such as hurricanes, wildfires, winter storms, severe convective storms, earthquakes, and flooding, focusing on residential and commercial properties. In this role, you’ll maintain the SQL exposure data environment, develop data cleaning and storage best practices, and provide regular reporting and ad-hoc analysis to business units like Product Management, R&D, Pricing, Claims, and Underwriting. Additionally, you’ll use tools like geocoding, geospatial, and data visualization software while working closely with team members and analysts to support our business objectives.

Must-have qualifications

  • A minimum of four years of analytical work experience
  • {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of three years of analytical work experience
  • {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field of study and a minimum of one year of analytical work experience
  • This position requires online pre-employment testing for external candidates.

Preferred skills

  • Proficient in software such as SQL, R, or Python
  • Familiarity with geospatial tools and geocoding software like Tableau, ArcGIS, or Spatial Key
  • Experience with industry-leading catastrophe modeling software such as AIR, KCC, or RMS

Compensation

  • $63,800-$102,800/year
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive up to 24-30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
