As a commercial underwriter associate, you’ll use your ability to think critically and high attention to detail to analyze, underwrite, and rate workers’ compensation policies. You’ll review, rate, and process referrals and applications, approving or declining requests based on departmental guidelines. In this role, you’ll also review loss prevention and audit reports as well as provide excellent customer service to our insureds, agents, and partners.

This is a hybrid position based out of our Carmel, IN office location.

Must-have qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum three years relevant commercial lines, insurance industry, and/or underwriting experience.
  • {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher.

Preferred skills

  • Working knowledge of workers' compensation underwriting
  • Experience evaluating commercial lines opportunities using research and independent judgement
  • Experience building customer relationships with external business partners
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and think critically

Compensation

  • $22.30- $27.88/hour
  • Gainshare bonus up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
