As a human resources consultant senior or lead, you'll partner with our Claims Central Zone leadership and our Progressive professionals to resolve employee related issues, promote diversity of thought, create an inclusive work environment, and mitigate risk for the organization. As a key member of our HR organization, you’ll support our leadership team on approaches to business problems, issues, and strategies. Additionally, you’ll proactively build relationships in a collaborative environment while continuing to make Progressive a great place to work.

Location: This position will support our Maryland (MD) and/or Virginia (VA) field claims business. Open to candidates residing in Maryland or Virginia, with a preference for those who can easily access travel to our main claims offices (Glen Burnie, Silver Springs, Hunt Valley, Alexandria, Richmond or Leesburg). Frequent/ monthly travel expected to connect with customer groups and attend meetings. Travel will be dependent on business need and Field Claims Work Location Strategy, up to 50%.

Must-have qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum of six years related work experience in Human Resources or business operations that includes leading people or cross functional teams.
  • {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of three years related work experience in Human Resources or business operations that includes leading people or cross functional teams.
Preferred skills
  • Three or more years of human resources business partner/ consultant experience
  • Claims leadership experience
  • Knowledge of and experience with HR procedures, principles and concepts along with federal and state regulations governing employment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain highly confidential information and work with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to make decisions with limited subjective data and achieve outcomes with limited authority

Compensation

  • $70,100 - $136,700/year depending on experience and geographical location
  • Gainshare bonus up to 30% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
