As a senior catastrophe (CAT) field claims adjuster on our Home & Property team, you’ll manage the coverage and damage analysis of property claims. Handling claims from start to finish, you’ll support customer needs while ensuring swift resolution. You’ll also use strong negotiation and customer service skills to interact with customers, insurance carriers and others. Bring your field adjusting experience and we’ll offer the confidence and stability that come from working with a successful and growing organization.
This position requires frequent travel across the country. You can work from home when not traveling. Only accepting applicants in the eastern or central time zone.
You will also be required to lift heavy equipment up to 50 lbs. as well as climbing and walking on 6/12 pitch roofs.
Duties & responsibilities
- Inspect, photograph, measure, sketch, and assess damages to homes involved in losses such as partial fire, total fire, water damage, wind damage, flood damage, hail, and vandalism
- Determine the extent of the property loss estimating the cost to repair, replace, or compensation
- Identify additional exposures such as Personal Property/Contents, Additional Living Expense, Mold, Ordinance related to a property loss
Must-have qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of three years of related work experience, at least one year of which must include commercial, property, or specialty lines claims handling
- Instead of the above, an associate degree and a minimum of five years related work experience, at least one year of which must include commercial, property, or specialty lines claims handling
- Instead of a degree, a minimum of eight years related work experience, at least one year of which must include commercial, property, or specialty lines claims handling
- Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and compliance with Progressive’s driving standards and/or policies
Preferred skills
- Strong working knowledge of Xactimate
- Homeowners field adjusting experience
- One or more years of property claims handling experience
- Two or more years of field experience
Compensation
- $74,000-$86,600/year depending on candidate experience
- Gainshare bonus up to 24% of your eligible earnings
- Deployment pay is also available during catastrophe extended hour events
