As a lead pricing actuarial analyst on the Special Lines Pricing team, you'll own our Ratemaking Indication model and its’ associated methodology. You'll review the current approaches of our methods and practices, and lead research and development of new methods or models for implementation. In addition, you'll provide insights on ratemaking assumptions used to set rate level for our portfolio of products, and assist in defending such to state Departments of Insurance. You'll support additional analytical projects as needed. Support is provided for ACAS candidates pursuing FCAS credentials and for satisfying required Continuing Education requirements.

Must-have qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field of study and a minimum of 5 years analytical work experience.
  • In lieu of a quantitative degree, a bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of 7 years of analytical work experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of analytical work experience.
  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designation or higher.

.Preferred skills

  • Strong technical skills, including familiarity with general ratemaking methods, time series, regressions, GLM, etc.
  • Proficiency in SQL as well as R, SAS or Python programming
  • Ability to be persuasive and communicate ideas concisely and effectively, including the ability to question the status quo and move things forward

Compensation

  • $97,400 - $139,200/year
  • Gainshare bonus up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance.
