Position Summary
IT Intern shall work with, and gain experience while assisting, the IT staff in supporting the needs of the JumpStart organization, including our Verizon Learning Centers. The IT support staff at JumpStart are responsible for the organization’s technical needs. The person in this role will initially assist with addressing and solving users’ computer needs, configuring laptops for deployment, software administration, inventory management, data entry and cleansing, and other tasks as needed to support the department’s goals.
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to provide superior customer service to JumpStart offices and Verizon Learning Centers staff.
- Address technology needs within your knowledge areas and work with IT staff to increase your understanding of IT problem-solving in a business environment.
- Learn to configure and deploy new laptops with all necessary equipment.
- Assist IT Analyst in software management tasks, including SharePoint administration.
- Review, edit, and enter data to support the management of our computer inventory and other data management needs.
- Assist with additional requests that support the goals of the department.
- Be open to learning more about server infrastructure, networking, security practices, Salesforce, Power BI, SharePoint, and other technologies used in our business environment.Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift boxes weighing 20 lbs. and move other items in the conference and storage rooms.Education, Training, and/or Experience
- Currently enrolled in a certificate, undergraduate, or other educational program focused on Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Technology Management.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
