New Position: Software Test Engineer

Intwine Connect, LLC, is currently looking for a full-time software test engineer to work on a wide variety of projects using the Python and Java programming languages. The Software Test Engineer will work under the direction of the Chief Engineer and Software Lead on tasks relating to integration, development, and testing of software running on an embedded Debian-based Linux OS as well as various Cloud services. The Engineer will be responsible for developing and updating software documentation for both internal and external users.

What You Will Be Doing

Initially, the Developer will be working with the Chief Engineer to refine and improve the current software development lifecycle. Particular attention will be paid to testing and documentation including the development of continuous integration processes, automated software testing, development of unit tests, and overall system-level testing. The Test Engineer will eventually be responsible for monitoring and managing Intwine's connected equipment labs and demonstration deployments. The position will then grow and change with the needs of Intwine and the interests of the Engineer.

What You Need For This Position

Critical requirements are experience programming in Python, Java, previous use of version control (ideal git), ability to troubleshoot at the software/hardware interface, familiarity with automated testing mechanisms, and being a quick learner capable of self-direction. Beneficial skills include experience with Linux development, an understanding of IP-based networking, and proven experience writing technical documents. Skills that will be helpful include the ability to do low voltage electrical work, troubleshoot electrical systems, familiarity with communication protocols including MQTT, BACnet, ModBUS, DNP3, etc.

The Test Engineer will spend their initial term at our engineering office in Chagrin Falls, OH, before transitioning to more lab-based work at our Warren, OH, offices. We are a small group of highly motivated engineers who work with both hardware and software to develop capabilities and services that enable our customers to better use and understand their systems.
