SUMMARY
This position coordinates the Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s promotional materials including design, acquiring cost estimates and production. The position will serve as point person in implementing the Food Bank’s brand guidelines and support the marketing needs of all Food Bank departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is not all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Create, design and manage production of all Food Bank-wide communications and marketing materials including impact report, strategic plan, various dept. newsletters, brochures, digital assets, etc.
- Provide design and promotional support to all Food Bank departments including cause-related marketing efforts and Food Bank events as well as Food Bank communications initiatives and work with external designers or consultants to ensure that materials are effective.
- Ensures that Food Bank materials are consistent with our brand guidelines, providing training and feedback as necessary. Serves as clearinghouse for the use of logos and materials both internally and by outside organizations.
- Oversees the implementation of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank brand throughout our six- county service area, developing tools and templates that can be used by staff and volunteers throughout the organization and uploaded to Brandfolder.
- Maintain the Food Bank’s graphic resources including logos, letterhead, photos and templates as well as the inventory of Food Bank-wide materials including letterhead, envelopes, folders, notecards and any promotional items.
- Help manage and stay on budget for all materials including coding of invoices, etc
- Manage production of all Harvest for Hunger promotional materials, advertisements, etc. Serve as staff point person with agency/consultant for design of all materials.
- Manage design and production of all outreach materials to effectively communicate resources available to neighbors and general public.
- Develops and manages relationships with outside vendors who provide graphic services to the organization; works to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Cross train to assist with updates of the Food Bank website and social media.
- Maintains required job knowledge and skills and core professional competencies. Attends and participates in required educational programs and staff meetings.
- Actively support and champion initiatives aimed at driving continuous improvement throughout the organization. May participate in one of the following: LEAN council, a kaizen, 5S campaign or other process improvement efforts to support continuous improvement and improved processes within the Food Bank.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; and 2 to 3 years related nonprofit communications or marketing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated knowledge of professional graphic design principles, typography and color theory is required. Experience designing and preparing assets for a variety of needs, including digital assets, professionally printed materials, and in-house printed materials. Willingness to work beyond normal working hours, when necessary. Proficiency in Windows based computer programs and use of MAC is necessary. Emphasis on design and desktop publishing, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photo Shop experience required. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work quickly and accurately in a team atmosphere and manage a flexible schedule. Photography experience is helpful but not required. Required commitment to making interactions across different cultures and backgrounds a strength of our organization as demonstrated through work, life or community experience.

Physical Requirements and Environment
The physical requirements for this position include: Ability to frequently remain in a stationary position. Ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. frequently. Ability to operate a computer or other office productivity machinery constantly. Occasional ability to ascend/descend stairs to access work spaces. Ability to position or move body to access filing cabinets or other work equipment on seldom occasions. Ability to frequently exchange accurate information and communicate in person or via telephone with clients, partners, donors, coworkers and other members of the community. Must be able to frequently view a computer screen. Ability to move office equipment/supplies on seldom occasions. Ability to lift 10-25 lbs on a regular basis. Travel is seldom required for this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000 commensurate with experience
