SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this position is to serve our Agencies in the agency pick-up area by assisting customers in the loading of orders of food and non-food products. This position will locate customer’s orders and use various pieces of equipment to load orders into agency’s vehicles. This position ensures that a high level of safety and sanitation are maintained in the facility. Secondary responsibilities include: picking outbound orders (when needed), re-stock pallet bins, remove scrap pallets from pick bins, and perform other duties as assigned. Due to the close proximity of the Marketplace as well as similar responsibilities, the Warehouse Associate II position will assist in the Marketplace (as needed), making sure there is a good variety of quality product for the Agencies to shop from, removing scrap, and restacking product in the cooler / freezer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides superior customer service to Agencies while assigning dock doors, locating orders and loading agencies’ vehicles.
- Verify an Agency’s orders on Outbound Staging board and locate products in Staging locations; Operate a Reach Truck / Forklift to load orders into agency’s vehicles.
- Conveys materials and ensures the product is properly staged on a pallet and are properly marked indicating the agency’s name and the correct location.
- Delivers staged product to agency’s vehicles for pick-up and marketplace orders.
- Assembles orders accurately, from stock, utilizing assigned pick lists or voice picking technology and referring to product location, inner packing, description and quantity.
- Perform daily walk-through in Agency Pick-up Staging area to identify orders / product left behind and determine if the order will be returned to stock or rescheduled for later date.
- Maintains required job knowledge and skills and core professional competencies, including attending and participating in required educational programs and staff meetings.
- Maintain high standards of warehouse sanitation and safety at all times. Ensures that empty pallets and production packaging are removed from aisle ways, cooler and freezer.
- Provide housekeeping services for the warehouse areas and other areas, as scheduled, or necessary, to maintain the highest level of cleanliness and pest control.
- Immediately reports to supervisor any repairs that are necessary or required to equipment of the facility, ensuring that facility and equipment is properly maintained and is in good working condition.
- Removes dangerous conditions prior to an accident or injury occurring (i.e., water spill clean-up, etc.).
- Assists in inventory counting as requested or instructed by supervisor.
- Actively support and champion initiatives aimed at driving continuous improvement throughout the organization. May participate in one of the following: LEAN council, a kaizen, 5S campaign or other process improvement efforts to support continuous improvement and improved processes within the food bank.

Qualifications
HS Diploma/GED preferred. Two to three years of warehouse/material handling experience required. Experience on Reach Truck / Forklift operation required; Customer Service experience (highly preferred). Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred. Tow motor certification required. Serve-safe certified preferred, but not required. Required commitment to making interactions across different cultures and backgrounds a strength of our organization as demonstrated through work, life or community experience.
Physical Requirements and Environment
The physical requirements for this position include: Occasional ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to move about inside the office and to access truck cab and deliver product constantly. Ability to operate a computer or other office productivity machinery constantly. Ability to ascend/descend stairs to access work spaces frequently. Ability to position or move body to access filing cabinets or other work equipment constantly. Ability to constantly be able to exchange accurate information, take and give direction and hear safety warnings. Ability to constantly inspect product, judge distance between equipment, shelves and permanent structures. Ability to frequently detect spoiled product or quality of meals. Ability to move office equipment/supplies constantly. Ability to lift 50+ lbs on a regular basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary Range: $21.60 per hour
