General Statement of Duties: In support of the mission of The Ohio Association of Foodbanks, members of the Healthy Harvest Corps will support a coordinated statewide effort to prioritize investments in scaling and sustaining food as medicine initiatives. Members will support new, emerging, and expanding services that address hunger as a social determinant of health.

Service Term Dates: September 15th, 2025-September 14th, 2026

Service Position Type/ Required Minimum Service Hours: FT/1700 hours

General Service Schedule: Our agency’s standard hours are 7am – 5pm M-F. The member’s typical work schedule will be: eight hours/day with 30-minute lunch, M-F (with occasional weekend events). General breakdown of your time is below.

• 50% Primary activities: Medically-supportive grocery box activities

• 40% Support Food as Medicine (FAM) programming

• 5% Training at service site

• 5% Training and events through Community Health and Research department

Primary activities: Medically-supportive grocery box activities (minimum 50% of their time):

• Participate in regular Foodbank Champions Team calls with the network

• Provide significant, direct service support to medically-supportive grocery box programs. This includes:

- Pack medically-supportive grocery boxes and prepare for distribution

- Oversee volunteers packaging boxes for medically-supportive grocery box programming

- Engage with participants of the medically-supportive grocery box program

- Assist in inventory management for medically-supportive grocery box programming

- Conveys food product delivered to CRC and ensures the product is properly staged on a pallet and is properly marked

- Coordinate with procurement and Market staff to ensure access to products needed for the medically supportive box program.

- Deliver medically supportive grocery boxes to participants as needed

• Coordinate with the FAM home delivery driver regarding pickup and assist in troubleshooting any issues that arise during delivery.

• Order and assist in overseeing the cooking tools inventory utilized in the medically supportive grocery box programming

• Assist in the day-to-day logistics of operating a home delivery program

Secondary activities: Support FAM programming (up to 40% of their time)

• Serve as a backup/secondary FAM dedicated shopper at the CRC Healthy Choice Market for referrals from the Root Cause Coordinator for Healthcare

• Assist in maintaining compliance for the medically-supportive grocery box programming and FAM partner sites. This includes:

- Collaborating with the internal Operations and Market teams to ensure the designated FAM warehouse area at the CRC always meets regulatory and safety requirements

- Assist in conducting site visits at FAM partner sites as needed.

• Contribute to and assist in the implementation of FAM research studies, this can include but is not limited to:

- Survey administration at FAM partner sites

- Assist in conducting individual or group interviews

- Assist FAM partner sites with data requests

Trainings and Events (10% of their time)

• Comply with all AmeriCorps program guidelines by maintaining service hours, training hours, and service projects as outlined in the AmeriCorps Service Agreement.

• Attend all required training courses and staff meetings and participate in AmeriCorps service projects.

• Understand and promote the Mission and Vision of the Greater Cleveland Food Bank that values public service and celebrates the positive aspects of diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• At least 18 years of age

• Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screen

• Working knowledge of Microsoft office software and data entry programs

• Positive and professional written and oral communication skills

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

• Be comfortable working in both office and warehouse settings

Preferred Qualifications:

• College degree

• Be able to multitask and have a high attention to detail.

• Strong interest in working with communities, nutrition, and community-based research

• Expanded knowledge of other data management software a plus

• Experience in inventory management and/or transportation management a plus

• Ability to work and communicate with people of a variety of backgrounds and skillsets
