Our Cordella Heart Failure System (CHFS) includes proactive management tools for best practice care and detection of worsening heart failure. WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Cost Accountant with a background in manufacturing will oversee cost accounting activities within our organization. The Cost Accountant plays a critical role in analyzing, controlling, and optimizing costs to support our mission of delivering innovative Interventional Heart Failure Monitoring devices while ensuring profitability and compliance with industry regulations. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Naperville, Illinois. Requirements include:

  • Establish and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures tailored to the unique requirements of the medical device manufacturing industry.
  • Reviews cost and variance trends, researching significant variations and recommending appropriate response.
  • Conducts daily operating performance analysis, including inventory movements, sales, and cost of goods sold to identify significant issues in a timely fashion.
  • Reviews new BOMs and routers submitted for accuracy.
  • Performs monthly inventory evaluation and reconciliation of cost ledgers.
  • Evaluates and approves cost review requests, including operating impact analysis.
  • Performs annual cost roll and inventory revaluation. Works with purchasing and operations management to enhance accuracy of cost components.
  • Computes break-even points, profit margins, and production costs.
  • Analyzes manufacturing costs and prepares regular reports, comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Making estimates of new and proposed product costs.
  • Provides management with reports on factors affecting prices and profitability of products.
  • Assists in audits and general ledger preparation.
  • Prepares and analyzes gross margin reports by product.
  • Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, or manufacturing methods to determine effects on cost.
  • Reviews cost allocation, assumptions, and rates.
  • Owns month-end closing process and assists in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Responsible for overall physical inventory and related audits.
  • Coordination with operations to facilitate the periodic update of the standard cost in the bill of materials.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • 5+ years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • 8+ years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO standards related to medical device manufacturing is preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
