Embrace Pet Insurance is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Technology Officer to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio! As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology development and implementation to enhance both our customer-facing and internal platforms. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our technological roadmap, ensuring scalability, security, and optimal user experiences across all digital touchpoints.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Technology Strategy: Refine and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the company's direct-to-consumer business objectives.
  • Platform Development: Lead the development and enhancement of internal and customer-facing platforms, including web, mobile, and other digital channels, to optimize the insurance buying journey and internal operations.
  • Data Analytics: Utilize data-driven insights to improve customer engagement, conversion rates, and overall business performance.
  • Innovation and Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product management, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment and integration of technology initiatives with business goals.
  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and implement robust security measures to protect customer data and privacy.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with technology vendors, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in technology leadership roles within the InsureTech or FinTech industry, with a focus on direct-to-consumer selling.
  • Strong understanding of direct-to-consumer business models and customer acquisition strategies within the insurance industry.
  • Expertise in developing and scaling customer-facing digital platforms, with proficiency in web development, mobile applications, and e-commerce technologies.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving technological innovation and delivering results in a fast-paced, agile environment – specifically for internal processing and customer service functions.
  • Deep knowledge of data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies, with experience leveraging data to drive business outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies and infrastructure, preferably AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the insurance industry.
