SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Information Technology Intern will contribute to the execution of Destination Cleveland’s IT workplan by supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic project initiatives. This role is ideal for a student seeking hands-on experience in a dynamic, mission-driven environment where technology is leveraged to enhance organizational impact. Ongoing work will include supporting the Destination Cleveland staff with technology issues, assisting with ongoing technology audits, and attending key meetings. Project engagement will include AI & Data initiatives, CRM Implementation, & Project Management software enhancements. This internship will be ideal for a student looking for a career in Business Systems Analysis, Data Management & Architecture, or Enterprise Software Management.

COMPENSATION & EXPECTATIONS

  • Mandatory Start Date & Orientation: January 7, 2026
  • $1000 Monthly Stipend (paid twice monthly over the course of the 16 week internship)
  • 200-275 hours of the course of the semester (15-20 hours per week)

  • Internship duration: Spring 2026 (Jan. 7 -April. 30)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES?

Business Systems Analysis

o Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements for system enhancements and new implementations.

o Participate in stakeholder interviews and process mapping exercises.

o Support testing and validation of system changes, including writing test cases and logging defects.

o Help maintain system documentation and user guides for internal platforms.

Data Management & Architecture

o Conduct data audits to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

o Assist in data cleansing, transformation, and migration tasks across platforms.

o Help guide data governance policies procedures.

o Participate in discussions around data architecture and integration strategies.

Artificial intelligence

o Shadow cross-functional teams working with external vendors to develop AI strategy, use cases, and implementation roadmaps.

o Observe how AI is being piloted in marketing and enterprise software environments, including tools like ChatGPT and Copilot.

o Support the evaluation of AI tools and platforms, contributing to criteria development and feedback collection during pilot phases.

Enterprise Software Management

o Shadow and assist in the evaluation of enterprise software platforms.

o Assist in preparing training materials and onboarding guides for new enterprise tools.

o Participate in testing interoperability between enterprise systems using APIs or middleware.

o Help manage user roles, permissions, and license tracking across enterprise platforms.

General IT Support & Operations

o Provide first-level technical support to staff, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

o Assist with inventory management of IT assets and software licenses.

o Participate in IT team meetings and contribute to project planning discussions.

o Document IT processes and contribute to knowledge base articles.

o Assisting on the above and other duties as assigned for the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission Staff.

o Other duties and projects as assigned.
