Job Overview

The IT Systems Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and support of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, Active Directory, endpoints, and cloud solutions such as Office 365. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with Windows Server, Entra, Exchange Online, Intune, and other Microsoft 365 workloads.
This role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently. The Systems Administrator will assist in implementing IT projects, maintaining system performance, and ensuring security and compliance standards are met. The candidate must have good communication skills and be able to provide technical support and guidance to end users as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Server Administration
    • Manage and maintain servers (Hyper-V), virtual machines, and core infrastructure services
  • Endpoint & Device Management
    • Administer endpoint platforms to maintain secure and compliant devices with Intune
  • Group Policy & System Configuration
    • Manage environment GPOs, endpoint standards, and security policy enforcement
  • Network & Infrastructure Support
    • General network troubleshooting, available hands-on support for network related issues
  • Identity & Access Management
    • Support Active Directory and identity services including provisioning, group mgmt., and access control
  • PowerShell Scripting
    • Create general PowerShell scripts for troubleshooting and support automation initiatives as needed
  • Maintain Backup & Disaster Recovery
    • Monitor backup jobs, assist with restore testing, support DR procedures
  • System Monitoring & Maintenance
    • Monitor server and infrastructure alerts, perform preventative maintenance, identify performance and capacity issues
    • Technical Documentation
    • Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, diagrams, configuration documents, and operational procedures
  • Support Change Management System policies
  • Assist in other IT areas, including Help Desk tickets, etc.
  • Other projects/tasks as needed
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of systems administration experience in a Windows-based environment
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP)
  • Hands-on experience with M365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Exchange Online, Intune)
  • Experience with Intune and endpoint/device management (Windows, iOS, Android)
  • Good understanding of PowerShell scripting and automation of administrative tasks
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DHCP, DNS)
  • Familiarity with backup systems and disaster recovery procedures
  • Understanding of IT security best practices (patching, account management, access control)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Works well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload effectively
  • Excellent documentation skills

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

  • Fine motor skills and manual dexterity to handle IT hardware and equipment
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Offices reachable by elevator but should be able to climb stars in case elevator is out of service
  • Heavier lifting may be required (up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to tolerate general office and HVAC noise
  • Ability to operate a computer and other technology-related lab equipment throughout the course of the day
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, etc.
  • Candidate must have ability to maintain punctual daily attendance and ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year
