Company Overview

Checkpoint Surgical is a fast-growing medical device company with a broad and expanding product portfolio spanning peripheral nerve surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic reconstructive surgery, and advanced biologics. We’re not just maintaining a product line. We’re building one, launching new solutions across multiple specialty areas and taking on more territory every year. Our team is lean, collaborative, and fast-moving, and built for people who want to make an impact early in their career. If you want broad exposure to a diverse portfolio and the chance to work on both established products and new launches, this is the place.

Position: Associate Product Manager

Department: Marketing

Reports to: Director of Product Management

Location: Corporate Office (Cleveland, OH)

Travel: Up to 30%

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Associate Product Manager to join our Product Management team and take real ownership across a diverse portfolio of surgical products. At Checkpoint, the APM role is genuinely broad. You’ll work across established product lines that need sustained commercial execution and new product launches that need everything built from scratch. You’ll own your products end-to-end: business planning, market strategy, field tools, physician engagement, and launch readiness. And you’ll do it working directly with our Director of Product Management, our field sales organization, and key surgeons across the country.

This role is built for someone early in their career who thrives on variety, is comfortable in a clinical environment, and wants to develop deep commercial skills fast, with a clear path to Product Manager as the team and portfolio continue to grow.

What You’ll Own

  • A broad, growing portfolio: support both established product lines with ongoing commercial needs and active new product launches across multiple therapeutic areas
  • New launch execution: build go-to-market plans, train the field, develop launch materials, and drive early commercial adoption for products entering the market
  • Business plans, positioning, and pricing: own the full marketing lifecycle for your assigned lines from strategy through field execution
  • Physician and surgeon relationships: spend time in the field, understand how products are used clinically, and identify what customers need next
  • Field enablement: work with Marketing and Sales to ensure reps have the tools, training, and confidence to sell across a diverse product line
  • Cross-functional collaboration: partner with Engineering, Clinical, and Operations to bring product improvements and new innovations to market

What We’re Looking For

  • 1-3 years of experience in medical device product management, marketing, sales, or clinical support; medical device or multi-product portfolio experience is a plus
  • Degree in business, marketing, sciences, or engineering (Bachelor’s required)
  • Experience or strong interest in peripheral nerve surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic reconstructive surgery, or advanced biologics, and comfortable working across multiple product categories
  • Ability to manage multiple products and priorities simultaneously: organized, follows through, and doesn’t drop balls when the portfolio gets busy
  • Comfortable with launch ambiguity: can build structure where none exists and execute with limited resources
  • Strong communicator, equally comfortable in front of a surgeon as in a cross-functional planning meeting
  • Analytical mindset: uses sales data and market insights to set priorities and make recommendations
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% (field visits, surgical case support, customer meetings, national sales meetings, tradeshows)

Why Checkpoint

  • Ground-floor growth: join at a moment when the company, the portfolio, and the team are all expanding, and help shape what comes next
  • Genuine portfolio breadth: develop commercial skills across multiple product lines and specialty areas, not just one narrow focus
  • Active launch pipeline: experience the full arc from pre-launch build to commercial execution as we bring new products to market
  • Real ownership and visibility: small team, senior access, and work that shows up in the field quickly
  • Direct path to Product Manager as the portfolio and team continue to grow
  • Collaborative culture where product management, sales, and clinical teams are genuinely aligned and work closely together every day

Perks & Benefits

  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, HSA, Accident, Critical Illness, and Pet Insurance
  • Career Growth: Training, mentorship, and leadership exposure
  • Retirement Support: 401(k) with generous employer match
