Checkpoint Surgical’s state-of-the-art nerve care products have become the standard of care for peripheral nerve surgery. The company actively develops and brings to market new products to support the entire continuum of intraoperative nerve care.
Position: Accounting Associate
Reports to: Controller
Location: Corporate Office (Cleveland, OH)
Travel: None
Schedule: Full-Time; 8-hour shift; Monday to Friday
The Opportunity
We are seeking a smart, motivated, and team-oriented individual to join our rapidly growing company. The Accounting Associate will work closely with the Controller to provide timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Company policies, as well as perform accounts payable and receivable functions.
What You’ll Do
- Process customer invoices and record cash receipts
- Process vendor invoices and payments
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
- Maintain monthly reconciliations and perform analysis of general ledger accounts
- Prepare month-end close adjusting journal entries and related supporting schedules
- Assist with an accurate month-end close and the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
- Research and provide recommendation on the handling of non-routine accounting transactions
- Assist with annual financial statement audit requests
- Manage vendor records and process vendor bills
- Work on special projects, process improvement initiatives
- Complete various ad hoc analyses and reports to management when requested

Preferred Credentials
- BS/BA Degree with a focus in Accounting
- Entry level or 3-5 years in an accounting-focused role
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- NetSuite ERP experience is a plus
